He then completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served as a sports resident for the New York Jets. Further enhancing his specialization, Dr. Maddalo completed a residency in Pediatric Orthopedics at Boston Children’s Hospital.

With a career spanning decades, Dr. Maddalo has made significant contributions to the field of sports medicine. From 1986 to 2014, he served as the assistant team physician for the New York Rangers hockey team. He has also provided medical expertise to athletes at all levels of competition and has served as the team physician for Manhattan College, the College of Mount Saint Vincent, and the College of New Rochelle.

Dr. Maddalo's exemplary service and dedication have earned him numerous accolades, including being honored as one of the "Top Doctors" by New York Magazine in 2012, 2022, and 2023. He is an active member of the Westchester County Medical Association, the New York State Medical Society, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Maddalo has been named "Police Surgeon" for several law enforcement agencies, including the New York State Police, the Westchester County Police Department, the Yonkers Police Department, and the Sleepy Hollow Police Department. He also holds the status of Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
